Worship Services
@ Lake Jackson United Methodist

You are invited to join us as we worship God together. Come as you are - our congregants will be glad to receive you into community.

We celebrate God's presence with meaningful music, thoughtful rituals, and scriptures and sermons which call us to remember who we are as children of God, and challenge us to live out that calling in ways that affirm the Sacred Worth of all of God's children.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated once a month, usually on the first Sunday.  In the United Methodist Church, God's table is open. All who wish to experience the grace of Christ are invited to partake in this special remembrance.

Special Times of Worship

Human Trafficking Awareness - Sunday, January 14th, 2018

Congregants symbolized their commitment to activism by breaking chains. God calls us in Proverbs 31:8-9 to "Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and the needy.”

Baptism of the Lord - Sunday, January 7th, 2018

Congregants commemorated the baptism of Jesus, and remembered their own baptisms, in a ritual of water. Baptism is God’s watermark—an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace, and an acknowledgment that God calls us and claims us.

Candlelight Service - Christmas Eve, 2017

We celebrated the birth of the Christ Child in a beautiful service of Lessons and Carols. Guest trio Skylark (featuring our own Jin Bing Shang) and the story of The Creation and The Nativity were shared by Pastor Jill.
